My name is D.J. Fleming. I write from the mill towns of Northern England — places where the chimneys have gone cold and the streets remember what they used to be.

Stories From The Smoke is comics, animated films and folk music made from those streets. The flagship story, George & The Dragon, is a biblical allegory about what happens when predators target young girls — told so that the people who most need the warning might actually hear it.

I'm the son of Pastor Mick Fleming of Church on the Street, Burnley, and this work grows out of what that community sees every day. These are not myths.
